Welcome to the Idea Garden (Beta) Welcome to the Idea Garden (Beta)

IdeaGarden is an ongoing, open site where people can "plant" ideas, receive ratings, and where volunteers, funders and partner organizations can visit to explore helping to nurture and grow the ideas.

IdeaGarden is a CFTW project, created by Todd Kelsey, to provide an ongoing home for ideas that have been submitted to the Knight News Challenge, Google's 10tothe100th project, and others. To find out more about CFTW and Todd Kelsey, click here.

Initially, to keep things simple, the site will be based on PHPMyFAQ, which allows anyone to "Ask Questions", and then provides a way for those questions to be answered, either by managers, or by the public (through proposing an answer in the Open Questions area).

In order to share your idea:

1) Sign up for a blog at http://www.blogger.com, and provide a more description of your idea (which you can edit, change and modify), and then copy the link to your blog so you can share it on this site. (Note: be aware the your idea will be public) If you already have a blog, or Web site, you are welcome to link to that. You might also wish to investigate Google Sites, as a simple, free way to make a Web site: http://sites.google.com

2) On ideagarden.cc, use the Ask Question feature to give a short 1-3 sentence description of your idea, and include a link to your blog; you can post your idea in the General category if you like, and you are welcome to suggest additional categories. (Note: be aware that your idea will be public)

3) You might be interested to join the Idea Garden Google Group, which is an announcement email list, and a place where you can use your group profile to share information about your project -- you can also email files (such as PDF/.doc) to be posted there: http://groups.google.com/group/ideagarden

Anyone who is interested is welcome to inquire about volunteering to help manage the ideas/questions/answers at ideagarden.cc - email ideagarden "dot" cc "at" gmail.com
